ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men’s lacrosse team recently joined efforts with dozens of volunteers to take part in the 16th annual Into The Streets service day. The day comprises of students from the college getting involved with the Elizabethtown Community directly with its residents.
The team met early Saturday, October 24th in Brinser parking lot to meet with the rest of the volunteers. Here, the team was divided into groups of three to four, handed rakes and various other cleaning supplies, and given their designated work site.
The groups, eager and anxious to help, could tell by the sky that the weather was not going to hold out very long. The groups quickly went to work on the Elizabethtown residents' leaf-covered lawns. Other members of the team contributed in other ways. Such as pulling weeds, cleaning house windows, and even teaching the skill of selling items on Ebay!
As the groups finished their tasks and returned to campus, heavy rains began to fall. The quick call to action by the groups was responsible for the completion of each task asked of them.
Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers, Into The Streets was a success. The Elizabethtown men’s lacrosse team is proud to have participated in this service day.
