ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Former Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse player
Ryan McCafferty was selected in the sixth round by the expansion Orlando Titans in the annual National Lacrosse League entry draft, held Wednesday night in Buffalo.
McCafferty, a native of Orlando, scored 85 goals in three seasons for the Blue Jays (2007-09), including a career-high 41 goals in 2009. He scored at least one goal in all 16 games, finishing the season with six straight multi-goal games, and led the Blue Jays with six man-up goals. McCafferty ranked fourth in the Middle Atlantic Conference in goals and fifth in points with 52.
McCafferty is the first player in the eight-year history of the Elizabethtown men's lacrosse program to be picked in the NLL draft, and was one of just two NCAA Division III players chosen among the 62 picks in the draft.
The Titans will begin their inaugural season on Friday, Jan. 8 hosting the Philadelphia Wings at Amway Arena.
