READING, Pa. --- Behind 19 points from Kelli McIntyre, Alvernia University defeated Elizabethtown College 68-55 in Commonwealth Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Physical Education Center.
Lil Snyder added 13 points while Alli Toczylowski tallied 11 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Crusaders (9-7 overall, 5-3 Commonwealth), who shot an even 50 percent (12-for-24) from the field in the second half and went on a 15-4 run over a 5 1/2 minute span of the second half to break a 41-41 tie.
Megan Strohman led the Blue Jays (6-12 overall, 2-6 Commonwealth) with a game-high 20 points while
Kaity Snyder added 10 points and six rebounds, but Elizabethtown committed 25 turnovers which led to 26 points for Alvernia.
Elizabethtown scored the game's first seven points and held a 13-4 lead six minutes into the contest, but Alvernia fought back to tie the score at 17-17 on a three-pointer by Joanna Graber with 8:39 left in the first half. The Blue Jays built their lead back to eight points at 26-18, and carried a 31-30 lead to intermission as Strohman led all players with nine points.
The Crusaders took their first lead of the game at 32-31 following two shots by McIntyre just 15 seconds into the second half, and the teams swapped the lead over the first six minutes of the half before reaching a 41-41 deadlock with 13:48 to go. From there, Alvernia held the Blue Jays scoreless for the next 3 1/2 minutes while reeling off eight straight points to move on top 49-41 with 10:17 left.
Julie Hahn finished with seven points and five assists for the Crusaders while Alex Velasquez and Graber each added six points.

Ali Jury adding seven points and four boards.
