GRANTHAM, Pa. --- Five straight wins at middle weights helped Messiah College to a 21-14 victory over Elizabethtown College in non-conference wrestling action Saturday.
The Falcons (10-9 overall) overcame an early 7-0 deficit by picking up decisions at 141, 149 and 157 followed by major decisions at 165 and 174 to take a 17-7 lead over the Blue Jays (8-5 overall).
Major decisions for the Blue Jays came from
Will Bentley at 125 pounds by a 12-4 score over Danny Lethbridge and
Mike Daub at 285 pounds by an 11-3 score over Zane Bachert. Picking up wins by decision were
Colin Sheridan over Andrew Clark at 133 pounds (5-0) and
Paul Connor over Tim Stewart at 184 pounds (5-4).
The Blue Jays have concluded their regular season and will compete at the Metropolitan Conference championship meet next Sunday at The College of New Jersey.
