ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. ---
Megan Strohman scored 15 of her team-high 17 points in the second half, including six foul shots in the final 20 seconds, as Elizabethtown College closed out its 2009-10 season with a 67-63 win over Arcadia University in Commonwealth Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Thompson Gymnasium.
Courtney Kofeldt also scored 17 points for the Blue Jays (8-16 overall, 4-10 Commonwealth), who held on after seeing nearly all of a 19-point second-half lead evaporate to the Knights (6-19 overall, 0-14 Commonwealth).
Kim Milligan led Arcadia with a game-high 19 points while Jackie Law added 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, but the Knights shot 36.7 percent (22-for-60) from the field as a team and were able to convert 25 Blue Jay turnovers into just 10 points.
The Blue Jays roared to a 23-7 lead after just seven minutes, as Kofeldt hit four straight three-pointers in a two-minute span, but failed to score for the next 5 1/2 minutes and took a 39-25 lead to halftime. Kofeldt's 12 points stood as the Blue Jay team high in the first half, while Milligan paced the Knights with 12 points.
A three-pointer by Strohman gave Elizabethtown its largest lead of the game at 49-30 with 16:00 remaining, but Arcadia limited the Blue Jays to just two field goals over the next 10 minutes while cutting its deficit to 55-48 with 6:06 to go.
The Knights pulled within a bucket at 61-59 following a three-point play by Law with 58 seconds left, but missed a potential tying shot with 26 seconds to go. Strohman put the game away for the Blue Jays by swishing six straight foul shots with 19.8, 13.4 and 6.2 seconds left, the latter two coming after a three-pointer by Milligan pulled the Knights within 65-53 with seven seconds to go.
Ali Jury finished with eight points and a team-high 12 rebounds for the Blue Jays, while
Stephanie Ellwood came off the bench to contribute eight points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes of action.
Kaity Snyder also scored eight points and dished out a game-high six assists before fouling out with 1:49 to go.
Angie Adams also reached double figures for the Knights with 11 points while Corrine Geiger chipped in with nine points and three rebounds. Both teams grabbed 38 rebounds in the contest, and Arcadia finished 16-for-27 at the foul line while Elizabethtown hit 10-of-11 free throws.

Jen Schiefer also played her final game in a Blue Jay uniform and scored five points in 19 minutes of action, including a first-half three-pointer.
