CLERMONT, Fla. --- The Elizabethtown College softball team posted a pair of easy victories at the National Training Center Spring Games Tuesday afternoon, defeating Northland College 14-5 in five innings and Northwestern (Minn.) College 18-3 in five innings.

Against Northland, the Blue Jays scored all 14 runs in the first three innings, including an eight-run outburst in the second. Autumn Phillips hit a three-run home run in the third inning for the Blue Jays, while Whitney Breneman went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI and Julie Sebastian finished 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

Emily Vogel picked up the win for the Blue Jays despite allowing 14 hits and five runs in five innings of work. Kristin Zimmer took the loss for the LumberJills after giving up two hits and three earned runs while getting just one out in the first inning.

Brittany Schmitt went 4-for-4 with a run batted in for Northland, while Ashleigh Miller finished 3-for-3 and Asia DeVlaeminck added two hits and two RBI.

In the win over Northwestern, the Blue Jays (4-2 overall) put up back-to-back nine-run innings in the second and third despite picking up just nine hits as a team. Sarah Church went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in and a pair of runs scored, while Elly McCarthy and Paige Tanner each went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Sebastian threw all five innings to get the win for Elizabethtown, giving up nine hits and two earned runs while striking out three. Amanda Rodgers tossed one-plus innings for the Eagles, yielding a pair of runs to take the loss. She was also the team's top hitter, going 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.
