ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Hollis Stahl scored five goals as third-ranked Gettysburg College defeated Elizabethtown College 18-9 in non-conference women's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon at Wolf Field.
Nina Emala added four goals for the Bullets (6-0 overall), who scored the first five goals and final six goals of the first half to take an 11-3 lead at intermission over the Blue Jays (3-2 overall).
Katie Caprinolo led the Blue Jays with four goals while
Sarah Cullinan added three goals and an assist as Elizabethtown faced the third-ranked team in Division III for the second time this season. The Blue Jays opened their season with a 20-8 loss at Salisbury University on Feb. 27.
Gettysburg took a 5-0 lead after 10 minutes of play, but the Blue Jays responded with three goals in a span of 68 seconds. Cullinan opened the scoring for Elizabethtown with 17:56 left in the half, and Caprinolo added goals 19 seconds apart to cut the Bullet lead to 5-3 with 16:48 to go in the opening half.
However, Stahl scored three times over the final 15 minutes of the half as the Bullets scored the final six goals to take an 11-3 lead to halftime. The Bullets took their largest lead of the day at 16-5 with 10:56 left, but the Blue Jays scored four of the final six goals.
Megan Byrnes finished with a goal and an assist for the Blue Jays, and
Emily Butler added her first career goal late in the second half for Elizabethtown.

Becky Porter all picked up assists for the Blue Jays, along with Cullinan and Byrnes.
The Bullets finished with a 42-19 advantage in shots over the Blue Jays and held a 21-13 margin in ground balls. Anna Scanlan led Gettysburg with three ground balls to share the game high with Elizabethtown's
Katie Scheurich. Stahl had a game-high four draw controls for Gettysburg, which finished with 16 draw controls to 12 for Elizabethtown.
Nicole Day started in goal for Elizabethtown but played just 18 seconds as she left the game with an injury which occurred on Gettysburg's first goal. She made one save during her brief stint, while
Rachael Waldman came on to make 12 saves in relief. Kristen Krammer tallied seven saves for Gettysburg.
