Sarah Cullinan scored four goals and added three assists and
Stephanie Kreis added three goals and three assists to lead Elizabethtown College to a 21-1 win over Arcadia University in Middle Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action Friday afternoon at Wolf Field.
Becky Porter added four goals for the Blue Jays (1-1 overall, 1-0 MAC) and
Katie Caprinolo scored three times as Elizabethtown led 15-0 at halftime and finished with a 37-3 advantage in shots over the Knights (0-1 overall, 0-1 MAC).
Elizabethtown scored 10 goals in the game's first 12 minutes, with four from Cullinan, two from Kreis and single goals by
Alisha Sangrey, Caprinolo,
Meg Cassels and Porter. Caprinolo added two more goals while Kreis, Porter and
Melanie Hartman also scored to close out the first half.
The Blue Jays tacked on the first six goals of the second half, as
Megan Byrnes, Porter, Hartman, Sangrey, Cassels and Porter each found the back of the net. The Knights spoiled the shutout bid with 6:13 to go on a goal from Stephanie Holguin.
Overall, Sangrey finished with two goals and two assists for Elizabethtown, while Hartman had two goals and an assist and Cassels scored twice. Byrnes tallied a goal and dished out a team-high four assists while Katie Schuerich,
Kara Solesky and
Samantha Redles also made it on the scoresheet with one assist apiece.
Defensively, Redles led the Blue Jays with three ground balls while
Sarah Behounek,
Alexis Morris and Schuerich each had a pair of caused turnovers. Morris and Kreis shared the team lead with three draw controls, matching Holguin for the game high.
Rachael Waldman played the first half in goal for the Blue Jays and did not face a shot, with
Nicole Day playing the second half and recording one save. Evelyn Ciaburri played all 60 minutes for the Knights and came up with 10 saves.
