GRANTHAM, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's track and field team competed at the Messiah College Invitational Saturday afternoon, earning 10 top-eight finishes and a pair of relay victories.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Pat Doughty,
Wyatt Eaton,
Mike Mauger and
Brandon Walters finished first with a time of 43.99 seconds, and the 4x400-meter relay team of
Brian Allport (52.4),
Kyle Grimm (51.5), Eaton (50.9) and
Luke Rotenberger (50.9) crossed the line first in 3:26.10.
Rotenberger took third in the 400-meter hurdles (58.87 seconds), Allport finished fourth in the 400 meters (52.24) followed by Grimm in fifth (52.64), Doughty was seventh in the 100 meters (11.48) and
Adam Derkacz took eighth in the 5000 meters (16:10.84).
In field events,
Mike Torre was third in the javelin at 176 feet, 9 inches while
Cameron Aregood moved into second place behind Torre on the school's all-time performance list with a mark of 170 feet, 10 inches that was fifth place in the competition.
Austin Hayes moved into seventh place on the all-time list with a throw of 151 feet, 10 inches.
Tim Katzaman finished sixth in the hammer throw (132 feet, 8 inches) and placed eighth in the discus (121 feet, 11 inches).
Dan Obold improved his standing on the school's top 10 finish with a mark of 115 feet, 1 inch in the discus (fourth), and the shot put at 33 feet, 10 inches (ninth).
