SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's track and field team competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic, hosted by Shippensburg University at Seth Grove Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The meet was the Blue Jays' final competition before the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at Widener University May 6-8, which Elizabethtown is the defending team champion.
Cameron Aregood was the top individual finisher for the Blue Jays, placing second in the high jump at 6 feet, 1 inch.
Aaron Focht took sixth in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:58.98, ranking ninth on the program's all-time Top 10 list, and
Rich Greco was sixth in the steeplechase at 9:58.87.
Brian Allport was ninth in the 200 meters (23.20 seconds) and
Luke Rotenberger finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles (58.29 seconds).
In relays, the Blue Jay 4x100-meter team of
Pat Doughty,
Kyle Grimm,
Mike Mauger and
Wyatt Eaton ran 43.48 seconds and placed sixth.
Other performances that cracked the school's all-time Top 10 list came from Allport in the 100 meters (11.45 seconds, ninth),
Chris Niles in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.52, ninth) and
Austin Hayes in the long jump (20 feet, tenth).
