EWING, N.J. --- The College of New Jersey erased an early 5-0 deficit with 10 unanswered runs in a 10-5 victory over Elizabethtown College in non-conference baseball action Wednesday afternoon.
Jason Zegarski went 4-for-5 with three runs batted in for the Lions (17-17 overall), who trailed the Blue Jays (20-13 overall) 5-0 after 1 1/2 innings of play but scored the game's final 10 runs, including five runs in the fourth to take the lead for good at 6-5.
Brian Kiernan and
Matt Reade each knocked in a pair of runs as part of a four-run first inning for Elizabethtown, but the TCNJ bullpen held the Blue Jays without a hit for the final four innings.
The Blue Jays scored four times in the first inning on a two-run double by Kiernan and a two-run single by Reade, and added a run in the second on a fielder's choice to take a 5-0 lead.

Wayne Leonard held TCNJ off the board for the first two innings, but the Lions broke through in the third on a sacrifice fly. In the fourth, the Lions opened the inning with three straight singles to cut the deficit to 3-2, and a sacrifice fly, an RBI single by Ed Zakrewski and a two-run single by Zegarski off Blue Jay reliever
Rob Cressman pushed the Lions on top 6-5.
A home run by Ryan Anzelone in the fifth gave the Lions a 7-5 lead, and TCNJ added a run in the seventh on a wild pitch and two more in the eighth on RBI singles by Scott Kelly and Zegarski to close the scoring.
Anzelone went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the Lions as part of a 12-hit attack, while Matt Rawson (1-1) picked up the win despite allowing five earned runs on five hits and four walks in five innings of work. Cressman (2-3) gave up three runs on four hits in two innings for the Blue Jays to take the loss in relief.
