ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College men's tennis team will be competing at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Tournament, to be held Saturday and Sunday at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre.
The Blue Jays have six singles entries and three doubles entries in the field, which begins tournament action with first and second-round action and concludes Sunday with semifinal and finals matches.
Elizabethtown has had three singles champions and five runners-up in program history, as Wieger Moen won the single-flight individual championship in 1998 and Greg Voshell (flight three) and Josh Miller (flight four) won titles in the first year of flighted championships in 2005. The Blue Jays have never had a doubles champion, but have had three runner-up teams.
At flight one,
Manrique Arrea has an 9-4 record for the Blue Jays and has an overall mark of 11-6, while
Josh Riehl is 13-7 overall and 10-3 at flight two. At flight three,
Brok Walker is a two-time MAC runner-up and is 11-9 this season and 59-31 in his career to be Elizabethtown's all-time leader in singles wins.
Bryan Metz is entered at flight four for Elizabethtown, where he has a 7-5 record this season, while
Eric Fritzges has an 8-4 mark at flight five and is 12-9 overall. At flight six,
Brian Osborn has a 5-2 record this season and he is 15-11 in his career.
In doubles play, Arrea and Walker are entered at flight one with a 2-2 overall record, while Fritzges and Riehl have an 8-6 overall mark and a 6-4 record at flight two, where they are entered. At flight three,
Michael Anderson will play with Metz and the duo has a 1-1 record this season.
