ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Top-seeded Elizabethtown College defeated Alvernia University 5-0 in a Commonwealth Conference women's tennis semifinal match Tuesday afternoon, sending the Blue Jays to the conference finals for the sixth straight season.

The Blue Jays (14-4 overall) will host defending conference champion Lebanon Valley College in Saturday's championship match at a time to be determined after the Flying Dutchmen defeated Messiah College 5-1 in Tuesday's other semifinal match.

For Elizabethtown, Kristi Noecker won 6-0, 6-0 at flight six singles over Laura Ehnes for her 21st win of the season, tying the program single-season record set by Heather Lander in 2005-06. Alena Marani clinched the match moments later for the Blue Jays with a 6-2, 6-1 win at flight five over Karoline Miller.

Elizabethtown jumped to a 3-0 lead in doubles over the Crusaders (12-4 overall) as Emily Swarr and Jess Russell shut out Jenny McKee and Kayla Morgan 8-0 at flight one to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead. Marani and Noecker defeated Ehnes and Brittany Veith 8-1 at flight three, followed by Allison Burkhardt and Madison Pipkin capturing an 8-3 victory over Lauren Ertel and Lillian Snyder at flight two.
