Each week when results roll in from the latest Elizabethtown College track & field meet, eyes are always glued to the triple jump to see if Jenna Niedermayer can come up with an even better mark. Multiple times this outdoor season the junior jumper has surpassed a previous personal record, all while adding to her school record distance. Late Thursday at the College of New Jersey, she did it again. Niedermayer posted the biggest number of her career with a top jump of 38'10-1/4" (11.84m), nearly assuring her a spot in the event at next weekend's NCAA Division III Championships.

The Middle Atlantic Conference announced its 2012 Spring Sportsmanship Teams Thursday afternoon, and it included eight Elizabethtown College student-athletes. For the year, the Blue Jays were represented on fall, winter and spring teams by 18 different student-athletes. Senior runner Kathryn Howser was chosen to a team in each season, in cross country (fall), women's indoor track & field (winter) and women's outdoor track & field (spring).

Men's cross country senior Eric Reichert '12 and women's volleyball senior Andrea Weaver '12 were named Elizabethtown College's 2012 Distinguished Student-Athlete Award Winners Saturday night at the school's annual Blue Jay Athletics Alumni Reunion in Thompson Gymnasium. This year's event took on a different format in that it celebrated the 46-years of dedication to the College by retiring women's basketball coach Yvonne Kauffman. Kauffman was presented with the Joseph A. Whitmore Service to Student-Athletes Award.

Juniors Elly McCarthy and Courtney Comstock have not yet missed being included on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region teams following the organization's recent announcement of its 2012 suads. McCarthy is the East Region's First Team Third Baseman and Comstock is a Third Team At-Large selection.

Prior to Monday night, only two men in the history of Elizabethtown College men's track & field had run in the 1:50's in the 800m. Sophomore Matt Rever became the third, with a school record-setting performance of 1:50.39 in the Tuppeny Twilight Last Chance Meet at Swathmore College.

Sophomore Megan Tursi and freshman Ashley Underkofler set new personal records in the 1500m and 800m, respectively, as members of the Elizabethtown College women's track & field team competed at Monday night's Tuppeny Twilight Last Chance Meet at Swarthmore College. It was E-town's final competition before NCAA declarations are made for the 2012 DIII Outdoor Championships.

Junior catcher Dillon Tagle, of the Elizabethtown College baseball team, has been chosen to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 4 NCAA Division III Team along with 11 other players. Tagle hit .378 on the season and led the Blue Jays to their 14th straight conference playoff appearance.
