Baseball at F&M postponed, Go4theGoal event to be rescheduled

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – A late-morning downpour swept through Lancaster Thursday, resulting in the postponement of Elizabethtown's game at Franklin & Marshall, as well as the Go4theGoal against Pediatric Cancer event that both teams were to take part in.

The game between the Blue Jays and Diplomats will be rescheduled, however a date and time have not yet been announced.

When the game is made up, Elizabethtown College baseball will be Going Gold against Franklin & Marshall College to help in the fight against childhood cancer, the number one disease killer of children. As part of Go4theGoal's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign, the Blue Jays will don shoelaces that are gold, the color for pediatric cancer awareness.

"We are really excited to be working with F&M and Go4theGoal in this great cause," said head coach Cliff Smith. "The fight against pediatric cancer is very important to our program, as our charity work has focused on this terrible disease. This cause hits close to home for us, as a friend of our program who is a young child, recently beat cancer. It is our hope that initiatives like this will make cancer a thing of the past."

Money generated from Elizabethtown's lace sales will support kids with cancer in the local community. Franklin & Marshall will also be wearing gold shoelaces during the game. This marks the first season the Blue Jays and Go4theGoal have partnered together in the fight against pediatric cancer.
